let's go back to the desk. firefighters are still on the scene of a fire that left five people without a home. they are there where crews are still putting out hot spots. >> reporter: take a look behind me and you can see that truck is still in place and they are very busy and what they have is a partial roof collapse. there is a hidden void and even though there are no injuries reported in this fire they are still here making sure this fire does not flare-up again. now we have new video at this hour at the back of the building, the back of the home involved in this fire and that is where most of the damage is. firefighters are calling that damage very significant and in the high 6 figures but they are not going to know more until they can get in there and really look around. the first call is when the fire came in just after 12 to 15

this morning. >> well i woke up, i heard a lot of firefighters and i looked out the window and saw big flames across the street. >> this is video you will only see on 2, as things really get underway firefighters got called to the scene. they are threatening the surrounding home and then there is that partial roof collapse so even firefighters themselves had to evacuate. four got out on their own but one person had to be rescued. >> the heat and smoke was above their heads so they entered

questions. they say they pointed a gun at the police officers. it may actually have been an assassination on americans in mexico city. they fired on an american embassy suv. there is evidence that a drug cartel infiltrated the police and master minded the ambush. two cia agents were wounded in the attack. the u.s. is mapping out a plan to take out the people responsible for the attack on the consulate. the u.s. is currently gathering intelligence and compiling suspects. options could include drone attacks and joint missions with libyan forces however the obama administration is not expected to approve a strike before the november election. the first of three

minutes of each other. neighbors called and police found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. he told officers he was walking his bike and the next thing he knew he was getting shot at. at the same time he said he was being shot at and he told police he was walking on he will can hone -- ill can hone and he told police he was shot in the buttocks. >> as far as we know it is a random act and two victims were shot at last night. >> the locations of the shootings were a block away. they did interview witnesses in the area. >> reporter: they don't have much to go on and they don't have a description of the vehicle or where they were leaving to. as far as arrests, they don't

have anybody in custody, jeanine della vega ktvu channel 2 morning news. >> these are live pictures we have at the scene. there is a lot of damage particularly to the back of the home. they are putting out hot spots and a big part of the roof collapsed and crews had to be pulled back away from there. there were five people inside and they were evacuated and the house was destroyed. no word of any injuries but firefighters say they don't think it was suspicious. >> all lanes are back open after a messy accident overnight. it happened near the hillcrest off ramp last night. highway patrol tells us a dark car hit the center divide and slammed into an suv.

they suffered moderate injuries but the situation could have been a lot worse. >> somebody was weaving and they got the airbag saved his life. the other driver was arrested on suspicions and they shut the area down until they could clear the scene. they are looking for somebody throwing objects from an overpass. >> all three incidents happened near g street and anybody with information is asked to call police. occupied protesters will march to chevron revine are you. -- refinery. there is a reminder for all

to the coast. here is a quick look at some of the top stories we are following at 543. this is what it was like inside the oakland city council, dozens were protesting and they wanted to release a police report. the officer involved shooting that left alan blueford dead. they turned over what is called a redacted report but his family said that is not good enough. firefighters are still putting out hot spots here after an early morning house fire in berkeley and five people got out with their lives from that house. no injuries were reported. the cause is still under investigation and it does not
